Monsta Tony Curtis Invades the

Europa Show of Champions!

Monsta Tony Curtis

Our Roving Reporter Monsta Clothing Owner & NPC Judge Tony Curtis gives us the straight skinny on what's going down at the Orange County Convention Center on Thursday, April 15 the day of vendor setup, IFBB Pro checkins, etc. This all comes just one week before Tony's own NPC show the Gateway Classic in Lake City, Florida.

Tony says the word is this expo is something on the order of 400,000 feet or four times larger than last year with many added events and a huge line up of vendors. Tony thinks this is really going to be huge and expects 150 or more NPC competitors on stage this year.

As for Tony & his partner at Monsta Chris they are living large at the Hilton and planning to have a great time at the Europa Show of Champions. Come out and visit them at the Monsta Booth!

MONSTA'S MAKEUP GATEWAY CLASSIC & MR & MS LAKE CITY

By Lisa White

NPC Europa Show of Champions with promoters Betty and Ed Pariso took place at the Orange County Civic Center opening its doors for a weekend filled with athletes participating in strongman, powerlifting, bodybuilding, flag football and other attractions. The venue will also be full of vendor booths including Monsta Clothing line with bodybuilding, fitness & figure promoter and co-owner Tony Curtis. This is a large venue for Tony and partner Chris and a great way to further create a household name for Monsta. Within the last year the Monsta Clothing line has successfully sky rocketed faster than Tony or Chris could anticipate and is the cause of some surprise and a lot of excitement.

Although Tony is elated about the clothing line he also has an upcoming event sure to rock the stages. The NPC Gateway Classic which takes place in Lake City, Florida is sure to be a sold out event at the Alfonso Levy Performing Arts Center of Lake City Community College. The house seats under 600 while the show usually has a lineup of 50-80 competitors but that was before the introduction of the bikini division. Tony admits he's unsure of how great the numbers will be this year since the addition of the bikini division; which has "blown up" in the sport of bodybuilding.

The NPC Gateway Classic is far more than a bodybuilding show for the athletes and area; offering entertainment and a way for the community to get involved in the sport on all levels.

NPC Gateway Classic

With the combination of the 2010 NPC Gateway Classic Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure & Bikini Championships (Level 4A) and The Mr. & Ms. Lake City Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure & Bikini Championships (Level I) the doors are open to athletes who are interested in participating in future national level shows, and more importantly, for the local athletes who love to compete in a more personal setting. These two shows run the gamut allowing athletes of all levels to perform in an arena best suited for them.

As for running the gamut; Tony has left no stone unturned with the creation of two full days of events for the athletes and community to take part in.

The day before the Gateway Classic IFBB Pro's Andy Haman and Debi Lavshevski will be doing a photo shoot at Future Fitness. Tony has stated this is free for any competitor or fan who would like to come watch the photo shoot and believes it's a great way for athletes to see what a photo shoot entails. That same day, competition weigh ins will be held at Future Fitness starting at 6:00-9:00 pm. Pre-judging will begin at 10:00am on April 23, 2010 and an evening show at 7:00pm.

For competitors, fans and families there is "down time" available at Moe's Southwest Grill around lunch time. It will be fun-filled with a hot bods, best abs, bikini and bench contests to participate in. As if Tony isn't already laying it on the line for entertainment; both Monsta sponsored IFBB Pro's Debi Lavshevski and Andy Haman will be at the show. Although Debi will not be doing guest posing she will be available for meets and greet along with autograph signing.

For fans this is a great opportunity to see Debi up close and personal as she is one of the leading ladies in bodybuilding. Andy will be available for autographs, as well as, gracing the stage as the guest poser. Andy is known for his stage presence and for amazing posing routines which is a treat for those who look up to him. Another NPC competitor will be there to sign autographs also and his name is Lee Banks. Many good things have been heard about Lee and Tony believes he has a great chance of going pro this year.

The NPC Gateway Classic is far more than a bodybuilding show. Tony has made this event an affair to mark in your calendars. It's open to the entire community with affordable prices at prejudging for $10 and $20 for the night show. Between the photo shoot, prejudging, Moe's, and the evening show there is a combination of things for supporters, fans and competitors to do.
