The 2003 NPC Florida State Bodybuilding, Fitness and Figure
Championships were held on Saturday, November 1, at the Boardwalk Beach
Resort in Panama City Beach under the promotion of Florida West
District Chairman Patrick Sporer. ..... .....
Twenty-six-year-old Randy Chaney of Deltona dominated the heavyweight
class by taking all first place votes for the class win and moved into
the finals to take the overall by a unanimous decision. ..... .....
Yamile Marrero, 42, of Miami captured the heavyweight class by a
unanimous decision and after the fiThe Fitness Division had just one
class and it was twenty-five-year-old Laticia Jackson of Pensacola
taking all first place votes in the three rounds of competition to take
the win. ..... .....
The Figure Division was divided into three height classes and it was
veteran competitor LeLe, 35, of Ft. Walton Beach taking a two-round
total of 10 points for the short class win. ..... ..... LeLe then moved into the final comparisons and took the overall win by a vote of 6 to 9 over the tall class winner. ..... .....
The pose down was exciting as each of the weight class winners had a
good chance to take it all but when the dust settled; it was Chris
Bancroft who was declared the overall champion.

2003 NPC Florida Gold Cup

The 2003 NPC Florida Gold Cup Classic, promoted by Frank Dalto of
Mother Nature’s Pantry Health Food Store with EAS as title sponsor,
took place in the William T. Dwyer Auditorium in Palm Beach Gardens in
late November. This contest is steroid tested for the competing
bodybuilders and the overall title is one which is highly sought after
from year to year. ..... .....
A phenomenal 41 years young Jennifer Micheli from South Daytona, a
mother of three and Herbal life Distributor, won both rounds in Class C
and subsequently the overall title. Trained by Masters Champion Lee
Apperson. This was Jennifer’s first show and what a super way to
celebrate the event with an overall victory. ..... .....
Choosing to enter the Women’s Open rather than the Masters, 45-year-old
Abbe Newman from Vero Beach took the lightweight class while Lake Worth
resident Lydia Vargas won the heavyweight class and the overall title. ..... .....
One-hundred-eighty-eight pound Chris Bancroft, an employee of the
Department of Homeland Security, earned first place on every judge’s
sheet in the light heavies.

The final contest in Florida for 2003 was the NPC South Florida
District Bodybuilding, Fitness & Figure Championships held November
29th in the Milander Auditorium in Hialeah. ..... .....
In the tall class, 36 year young Elise Dillard-Gonzalez of Miramar
scored near perfect results in both swimsuit rounds to take the class
with no question. A police sergeant by profession, Elise is a cousin of
IFBB Pro Fitness athletes Sherma and Lisha Dillard, both of whom made
their career starts in South Florida. ..... ..... In the overall, Elise earned a unanimous decision. ..... ..... Cy Davis captured the middleweight class in her first bodybuilding contest and moved into the finals to take the overall win. ..... .....
Simon Gimenez took the heavyweight class win and moved into the final
comparisons and pose down to take the overall title by a one-point
decision.

24th Annual NPC Gainesville Championships

The 24th Annual Gainesville Bodybuilding and Figure Championships were
held on Saturday, November 22, at the Lincoln Auditorium under the
promotional efforts of John Babb and the Gainesville Gym. ..... .....
Thirty-six-year old James Albury of Interlachen was unopposed in the
middleweight class and moved into the finals to take the overall win by
a unanimous decision. ..... .....
Dana Schoonamker, 32, of Gainesville was unopposed in the heavyweight
class and after the final comparisons had a one-point (7 - 8) decision
over the lightweight winner for the overall win. ..... .....
The Figure Division had three entrants and twenty-three-year-old Erin
Stern of Gainesville took a two-round total of 11 points to take the
win.
