vice-chairman Deke Warner was held on June 15 at the Dr. Phillips High

Lloyd Dollar, 29, of Orlando, fresh from his overall victory at the
2002 NPC Tampa Bay Classic just one week earlier, continued his winning
streak by taking the lightheavyweight class by a close decision (7 - 8)
over second placed Gokman Meyrili of Brandon for the lightheavyweight
class win and moved into the finals to take the majority of the first
place votes from the judges for the overall win. ..... .....
Thirty-six-year-old Sherri Enos of Bonita Springs, who one week earlier
at the NPC Tampa Bay Classic had taken the middleweight class win, took
the middleweight class unanimously and after the final comparisons and
posedown was the choice of the judges for the overall. ..... ..... The Figure Division had a total of 15 entrants divided into two height classes. ..... .....
Brandi Gardner, 29, of Tampa took the tall class title with a total of
14 points, 8 points in round one and 6 points in round two, and moved
into the finals to take the division title by a one-point (7 - 8)
decision.

Forty-one-year-old Lee Lipscomb of Columbia faced tough competition in
the lightheavyweight class against 8 other competitors to take the
class win by a unanimous decision and moved into the finals to take the
overall my a majority decision of the judges. ..... .....
Angela Counts, 31, of Taylors was making her first contest appearance
and took the lightweight class by a unanimous decision and moved into
the finals and after the comparisons of the class winners was declared
the overall champion of the women’s division. ..... .....
The Fitness Division was divided into two height classes and
twenty-six-year-old Debbie Ryan of Charleston dominated all three
rounds of competition to take the short class win by a unanimous
decision and then went into the finals comparisons and was the choice
of the judges for the overall title . ..... .....
The Figure Division was divided into two height classes and
twenty-four-year-old Misti Sturkie of Charleston took a very close
two-point (16 - 18) decision over second placed Christy Duffell of
Chapin to take the tall class win and went into the finals to take a 7
to 1 decision for the overall title.

The 2002 NPC National Qualifier Southeastern Gold’s Classic
Bodybuilding and Mak Attack Fitness and Figure Championships were held
on June 22 at the Wallace Hall Auditorium in Gadsden, AL under the
promotion of Stace Beecham and Gold’s Gym. ..... .....
Thirty-nine-year old Tad McLarty of Tuscaloosa, AL, fresh from his Body
Tech victory the previous week, once again dominated the middleweight
class with a unanimous decision and moved into the final comparisons
and posedown to again score a unanimous decision for the overall title. ..... .....
Pam Molinari, 35, of Marietta, GA, the 2001 NPC Georgia State Champion,
faced tough competition in the heavyweight class and pulled a unanimous
decision for the class win and took the overall decision by a two-point
(7 - 9) margin of victory over the middleweight class winner, Misty
Tidmore of Albertville, AL. ..... .....
The Fitness Division had two height classes and no entrants were in the
short class and the tall class, over 5’3”, had three entrants and
thirty-nine-year-old Patricia Gaskin of Atlanta, GA took round one with
5 points, round two with 8 points and round three with 5 points for a
18 point total for the tall class and overall win. ..... .....
The Figure Division had seven entrants and thirty-one-year-old Krista
Edmundson of Birmingham, AL took a 3 point (21 - 24) decision over
second placed Michelle Fisher, 24, of Vestavia, AL for the overall
title.

2002 NPC Tampa Bay Classic - 20th Anniversary

The NPC Tampa Bay Classic under the promotion of John Schleicher and
Superior Sports Productions celebrated its 20th anniversary on June 8
at the University of South Florida’s Special Events Center. ..... .....
Lloyd Dollar, 29, of Orlando took the lightheavyweight class in a field
of seven competitors by a unanimous decision and moved into the finals
to once again gain a unanimous decision of the judges for the overall
title. ..... .....
Sherri Enos, 26, of Bonita Springs, was unopposed in the middleweight
class and after the final comparisons and posedown earned the overall
title by a unanimous decision. ..... .....
Eight contestants competed for the Figure Division title and
twenty-four-year-old Krisha Moore of Safety Harbor was the choice of
the judges for rounds one and two to take the overall title with a
total of 17 points.

2002 NPC Superior Championships

The first ever NPC Superior Bodybuilding and Figure Championships took
place on May 25 in the Milander Auditorium in Hialeah thanks to the
promotional efforts of co-promoters Adolfo Robles of Oaktree Artistic
Productions and Dr. Peter John Rhoden of the Natural Healthcare Clinic.
This contest was previously known as the NPC Miami Beach but with new
promoters came the new name and new location. ..... .....
A rousing and enthusiastic crowd coupled with quality athletes made
this a successful event for its first year and already the promoters
are planning for 2003. ..... .....
A twenty-year-old student who trains at Gold’s Gym in Pembroke Pines,
Lani Kunishige was the unanimous winner of the short class Figure and
subsequently went on to win the overall title. ..... ..... The Women’s Open featured 27-year-old Stephanie Bachoo of Miami, who trains at the Olympia Gym. ..... ..... Stephanie is a student and weighed in at 132 pounds and took the middleweight class and the overall title. ..... ..... The Over 35 Division winner Manny Neyra took the victory in the lightheavyweight class and then took the overall title.

The 2002 NPC Body Tech Classic and Collegiate Alabama was held on June
15 at the Bama Theater in Tuscaloosa under the promotion of Ron
Wedgeworth and Tim Smithson and the Body Tech Fitness Facility. ..... .....
Tad McLarty, 39, of Tuscaloosa continued his winning streak (he won the
Southern Classic two weeks prior) by taking the middleweight class by a
unanimous decision and moved into the finals to take the overall once
again by a unanimous decision. ..... .....
Andrea Hirst, 38, of Northport, AL was unopposed in the lightweight
class and moved into the finals as was the unanimous choice of the
judges for the overall win. ..... .....
The Figure Division had three entrants and twenty-four-year-old
Michelle Fisher of Vestavia Hills, AL was making her competitive debut
and took both rounds of competition for a unanimous decision and the
win. ..... ..... The Fitness Division had just one entrant and Kristi Pugh, 24, of Tuscaloosa, AL was the winner of the title.
