2005 NPC Southern Classic

Mississippi kicked off their contest schedule with the “Tradition of
Excellence”, the 22nd Annual NPC Southern Classic Bodybuilding, Fitness
and Figure Championships on June 4 at the Thalia Mara Hall in Jackson
under the promotion of Don and Betty Hollis. ..... ..... A total of 140 athletes competed with a capacity evening audience. ..... ..... Darrell Hobson, 31, of Pearl, MS scored all first place votes from the judges for the unanimous lightheavyweight class win. ..... .....
Darrell went into the final comparisons and pose down of the class
winners and took a 2-point (8 - 10) margin of victory for the overall
title. ..... .....
Thirty-six-year-old Kim Buck of Newnan, GA took the heavyweight class
by a unanimous decision from the judging panel and after the final
comparisons and pose down was completed once again took all first place
votes from the judges for the overall win. ..... .....
The Fitness Division had just one class and it was twenty-one-year-old
Jennifer Siskron of Shreveport, LA taking a three-round total of 21
points for the overall win. ..... ..... The Figure Division was divided into three height classes with a total of 25 entrants. ..... .....
Twenty-seven-year-old Amanda Babin of Metairie, LA was appearing in her
third show and took a two-round total of 13 points for the short class
win. ..... .....
Amanda then went into the final comparisons of the class winners and
took all first place votes from the judging panel for the overall win.

The 12th Annual 2005 NPC Metrolina Bodybuilding, Fitness and Figure
Championships was held at the A. L. Brown High School in Kannapolis, NC
under the promotion of Roger Morrison on April 30. ..... .....
Thirty-five-year-old Nigel Cockroft of Cary, NC faced a strong field of
competitors in the lightheavyweight class and managed to take all first
place votes from the judges for the class win. ..... .....
Nigel moved into the final comparisons and pose down and once again
took all first place votes for the unanimous overall decision. ..... .....
Allison Quinn, 36, of Tryon, NC was unopposed in the heavyweight class
and after the comparisons and pose down of the class winners was the
unanimous choice of the judges for the overall women’s title. ..... .....
The Fitness Division was divided into two height classes and first time
competitor N’Keigh Lockwood, 24, of Salisbury, NC was unopposed in
Class A and went into the finals to take the majority of first place
votes from the judges for the overall win. ..... ..... The Figure Division was divided into three height classes. ..... ..... Ginger Hutchinson, 27, of Conover, NC took a two-round total of 15 points to take the Class B win. ..... .....
Ginger moved into the final comparisons and was tied with the Class A
and C winners for the overall with six points each. The high and low
scores were added back into the scoring and Ginger emerged as the
overall winner.

national qualifier, were held at the Sheraton in Atlanta on May 14
under the promotion of Georgia State Chairman Ty “Ropeman” Felder. ..... ..... Thirty-four-year-old Wendell Floyd of Smyrna, GA took all first place votes in the lightheavyweight class for the class win. ..... ..... Wendell went into the final comparisons and pose down and was the choice of the judging panel for the overall victory. ..... .....
Oliva Garner of Atlanta took the heavyweight class by a unanimous
decision and after the final comparisons and pose down of the class
winners was the choice of the judges for the overall win. ..... ..... The Figure Division was divided into four classes with a total of 15 competitors.
Renikka Dingle, 26, of Marietta, GA was the unanimous choice of the judges for the class win.
Renikka moved into the final comparisons of the class winners and was the pick of the judging panel for the overall win.

Twenty-six-year-old Jason Derrick of West Cola, SC took the
lightheavyweight class by a unanimous decision then moved into the
final comparisons and pose down to take the overall title. ..... .....
Heidi Bagwell, 29, of Spartanburg, SC was unopposed in the middleweight
class and after the final comparisons and pose down between the class
winners was the pick of the judges for the overall victory. ..... ..... Sheron Parks, 27, of Columbia, SC was unopposed in the Fitness Division. ..... ..... The Figure Division was broken down into three height classes. ..... ..... Thirty-year-old Kristy Stone of Charlotte, NC took a two-round total of 11 points to take the Class B win. ..... ..... Kristy moved into the final comparisons of the class winners and was the pick of the judges for the overall title.

votes from the judges to take the middleweight class win by a unanimous

winners and scored all first place votes once again from the judges for

Kim Bergman, 40, of Scottsboro, AL was unopposed in the heavyweight
class and was the only entrant in the women’s open and was
automatically declared the overall champion. ..... ..... The Figure Division was divided into two height classes. ..... ..... Lucy Thrasher, 40, of Jonesboro, GA scored a total of 12 points in both rounds of competition to take the short class win. ..... ..... Lucy moved into the final comparisons and once again scored all first place votes from the judges for the overall title.
