The 27th Annual NPC Southern USA, a national qualifier, was held on
April 9 at the Edgewater Beach Resort and Convention Center in Panama
City Beach under the promotional efforts of West Florida District
Chairman, Patrick Sporer. ..... .....
Veteran competitor Jamie Ibone, 38, of Altamonte Springs captured the
middleweight class by a unanimous decision and moved into the final
comparisons and pose down and was the pick of the judges for the
overall win. ..... ..... Anna Clements, 41, of Lutz was unopposed in the middleweight class. ..... ..... Anna moved into the final comparisons and was the pick of the judges for the overall win. ..... .....
The Figure Division was divided into four height classes and it was
Heather Burtoft, 32, of Tallahassee taking the Class A win with all
first place votes in each round of competition for a total of 10 points. ..... ..... Heather then went into the final comparisons and was the pick of the judges for the overall win.

2005 NPC Gateway Classic

Men’s open middleweight winner, Don Bristow of Tampa; women’s open
lightweight winner, Angela Mulkin of Gainesville; and figure tall class
winner, Corey Block of Merritt Island were victorious in staking claim
to their respective overall titles and also boasted bragging rights to
the first crowning of Gateway Classic Champions ever.

2005 NPC Junior USA

It was a clear, windy and very cool day in Charleston, SC, the site of
the 2005 NPC Junior USA Championships at the North Charleston
Performing Arts Center on April 16, but inside the competition was hot
and fierce. ..... .....
Promoters Tres Bennett, NPC South Carolina Chairman, and Ken Taylor
worked hard promoting this event and the efforts paid off with a total
of 181 athletes competing and a capacity audience. ..... .....
Lakeland Florida’s Byron English cameon stage at a weight of 234 pounds
to dominate the superheavyweight class by taking all first place votes
from the judges for the class win. ..... .....
Byron then entered the final comparisons and pose down of the class
winners and once again captured all first place votes for the unanimous
victory. ..... .....
In the Women’s Division it was Jodi Coy of Greenville, SC taking all
first place votes in the middleweight class for the class win. ..... .....
Jodi moved into the final comparisons and pose down and once again took
all first place votes from the judges for the unanimous overall victory. ..... ..... The Fitness Division was divided into two height classes with a total of 13 athletes competing. ..... ..... Katie Szep of Highlands, NJ scored a three-round total of 42 points for the short class win. ..... ..... Katie then went into the final comparisons and took all first place votes from the judges for the overall win. ..... ..... The Figure Division was divided into four height classes. ..... ..... Laura Sutter of Columbia, MD scored a two-round total of 11 points to take the Class C win. ..... ..... Laura went into the final comparisons and emerged with the majority of first place votes from the judges for the overall win.
