Brihm and Molinari Victorious

..... The 2001 NPC Georgia State Championships were held on July 7 at the World Congress Center in Atlanta under the promotion of Ken “Doc” Neely and his Doc’s Sports.
.....Thirty-year-old Vincent Brihm of Augusta took the lightheavyweight class unanimously and moved to the finals to capture the overall title.
.....Pam Molinari, 34, of Marietta dominated the heavyweight class and after the final comparisons and posedown was the winner of the women’s division.

2001 NPC Ancient City Classic

..... The 4th annual NPC Ancient City Classic was held on July 21 at the Pedro Menendez High School Auditorium under the promotion of Carl Colavito, Gene Schlossberg and the World Gym of St. Augustine.
.....Twenty-nine-year-old Grant Gilchrist, in his very first show, was the unanimous winner of the heavyweight class and after the final comparisons and posedown was the unanimous choice of the judges for the overall title.
.....Kelly Koons of Jacksonville was the unanimous choice of the judges for the lightweight title and took the overall unanimously also.
.....The Figure Division had six entrants and thirty-one-year-old Joanka Lana of Miami took round one (two-piece swimsuit) and round two (one-piece swimsuit) for a total of 13 points to narrowly take the title of second placed Amy Mix of Alachua with 17 points.

2001 NPC All Star Classic
Dwyer and Wilson Take Overalls

..... The 2001 All Star Classic was held on June 30 at the FCCJ Wilson Center for the Performing Arts in Jacksonville under the promotion of Kathy Conners and her KAT Promotions. .....Rueben Dwyer, 31, of Winter Park was the unanimous choice of the judges for the middleweight class and after the overall comparisons and posedown took the win unanimously. .....Twenty-seven-year-old Lucy Wilson of Jacksonville was the winner of the heavyweight class and after the overall comparisons and posedown was the unanimous choice of the judges for the overall title. .....The Figure Division had a total of 6 entrants and Sheri Brown, 24, of Jacksonville, in her very first competition, won rounds one (two-piece swimsuit) and round two (one-piece swimsuit) to take the overall title with a total of 17 points. Line and Moore Take State Titles

..... The 2001 NPC Mississippi State Bodybuilding Championships were held on July 21 in Jackson under the promotion of Don Weir.
.....Randy Moore, 28, of Oxford took the heavyweight class and after the final comparisons and posedown was the choice of the judges for the overall win.
.....Forty-year-old Marcia Line of Hattiesburg took the middleweight class and the overall title in the women’s division.

2001 NPC Tennessee Valley
Black and Johnson Victorious

..... The 2001 NPC Greater Tennessee Valley was held on July 21 in Huntsville under the promotion of Mike Robbins and the Powerhouse Gym. .....Joe Johnson, 40, of Huntsville faced 7 other heavyweights and came out the winner of the class - moved on to the finals and was declared the overall champion. .....Thirty-two-year-old Laurie Black of Clay, AL took the middleweight class unanimously and after the final comparisons and posedown was declared the overall winner. .....The Figure Division had three entrants and Krista Edmonson won the first round (two-piece swimsuit) with 6 points and the second round (one-piece swimsuit) with 7 points for a total of 13 points to take the overall. 2001 NPC Debbie Kruck Classic

..... The newly implemented NPC figure division drew an impressive field of 19 entrants at the 7th annual Debbie Kruck Fitness Classic that was held on July 7 at the William T. Dwyer Auditorium in Palm Beach Gardens in conjunction with the West Palm Beach Bodybuilding Championships.
.....The event was promoted by Frank Dalto, Bart Berling, Debbie Kruck and Mother Nature’s Health Food stores.
.....Tall class winner Carla Walburn of Palatka, FL defeated short class winner Claire Morris of Little Rock, AK for the overall title in the Fitness Division.
.....Cathy Nordyke, who also placed third in the fitness tall class, won the Figure Division with a total of 23 points.
