2002 NPC All Star Classic
..... The 8th Annual All Star Classic was held on July 13 at the FCCJ Wilson Center for the Performing Arts in Jacksonville under the promotion of Kathy Connors and KAT Promotions.

..... Veteran competitor Jamie Ibone, 35, of Apopka, dominated the competition by taking the middleweight class and the overall title by unanimous decisions.
.....
..... Fifty-four-year-old Peggy Hilbert of Ponte Vedra also dominated with unanimous decisions in the middleweight class and for the overall.

..... Melissa Galliher, 30, of Jacksonville was unopposed in the Fitness Division.
.....
..... The Figure Division attracted at total of 11 competitors and twenty-nine-year-old Sharon Eaton of Stockbridge, GA went from a fourth place finish after round one with 18 points to 9-point round two to finish with a total of 27 points to take a one point margin of victory (27 - 28) over Julie Buchanan of St. Augustine, who took first place after round one with a total of 11 points and a 17-point round two.

2002 NPC Ancient City Classic
..... Brandon Celli and Julie Buchanan dominated their respective divisions by winning the open overall titles at the 5th Annual NPC Ancient City Classic Championships, a level II contest held on July 20, at the Pedro Menendez Auditorium under the promotion of Gene Schlossberg, Carl Colavito and the World Gym of St. Augustine. Boasting a sell-out crowd, promoter Gene Schlossberg said proudly, “I am very pleased with the turnout this evening.”

..... An impressive Brandon Celli, 32, of St. Augustine won the men’s open heavyweight class unanimously before edging lightweight winner Michael Matassa by just one point (7 - 8) for the overall title.

..... A well defined Julie Buchanan, 35, of St. Augustine, won the women’s lightweight class before beating heavyweight Taime Vinor in the overall posedown.
.....
..... A most impressive and versatile Amy Mix, 30, of Fernandina Beach was unopposed in the Fitness Division.

..... After collecting her Fitness Crown, Mix proceeded to dominate the Figure Division by claiming her class unanimously.

..... The 2002 NPC Mississippi State Bodybuilding Championships were held at the Thalia Mara Hall/Jackson City Auditorium in Jackson on July 27 under the promotion of Gordon Weir.

..... Thirty-four-year-old Berry Haynes of Vicksburg dominated the heavyweight class with a unanimous decision and moved into the finals to gain the majority of the judges votes for the overall win.
.....
..... Melanie Wiggins, 25, of Southaven continued her winning streak by taking the heavyweight class with a unanimous decision and moved into the final comparisons and posedown to take the overall title.

2002 NPC Battle of the Bluff
..... The 2002 NPC Battle of the Bluff was held on June 29 in Tunica, Mississippi at the Bluesville inside the Horse Shoe Casino under the promotion of Chris Caudy.

..... Thirty-one-year-old Charles White of Memphis, TN was the choice of the judges for the lightheavyweight class and moved into the finals to take the overall decision.

..... Shauna Birge of Cape Girardeau, MO was unopposed in the middleweight class and after the final comparisons and posedown was the pick of the judges for the overall title.

..... The Figure Division was divided into two height classes and Tina Moore, 33, of Bartlett, TN was making her contest debut by taking the tall class win and after the comparisons of the class winners was the pick of the judges for the overall title.

27th Annual NPC Georgia State
..... The 27th annual NPC Georgia State Bodybuilding Championships were held on July 6 at a new location for this event, the Clayton County Performing Arts Center, Stroud Hall in Jonesboro, with special guest Master of Ceremonies IFBB pro Shawn Ray. This spectacular event was promoted by Kenneth “Doc” Neely.

..... Twenty-one-year-old Kris Hayles of Marietta dominated a field of 10 athletes in the middleweight class with a unanimous decision for the class win and moved into the finals and was the pick of the judges for the overall win.

..... Karen Rose, 42, of Acworth faced stiff competition in the lightweight class against a field of 7 athletes and took the class win with a unanimous decision and after the final comparisons and posedown was the choice of the judging panel for the overall title.
