How has that support or lack thereof impacted you? Their support when I was a child certainly helped to mold my confidence in myself. I definitely believe that they helped to lay a strong foundation within me that has helped tremendously as I trudge through a career in the physique industry and all the sacrifice that comes with that.
-When did you begin competing? 2008
-What is your competitive record? 2008 OCB Yorton Cup - 3rd Figure Novice Short, 2009 NPC Maryland State/East Coast Classic - 1st Figure Short Class & Overall Winner
-What are your competitive goals? 2010 Junior Nationals, 2010 Team Universe, 2010 USA's
-What motivates you to compete? I am motivated little by little....goal by goal....step by step of this journey I'm on. Everytime I get one more rep, or go 5 lbs heavier, or see one more line of definition in the mirror, or feel one final burst of will I feel so strong and confident that I know I've found my calling and that I am meant to do this. I have the warrior mentality required for this sport. Nothing can stop me. Eight years ago I was in a prison of addiction and dodged death many times. It is remarkable how I have turned my life around with this God given second chance. So that's what motivates me.....seeing how far I have really come.
-Most memorable experience in the sport to date? Winning the Maryland show and silencing all the doubters & Nay-sayers.
-Special recognition or thanks to anyone? Gretchen from GST....my trainer...my mentor. Alli Moyer....my best friend, radio co-host and fellow figure soldier...we stand by each other til the end...thank you for your friendship.
