-Onseason/offseason wght: I’ve only competed once, but I was 119 then and I’m 120 now…
-Best physical attribute: Arms
-Were you athletic as a child? Yes.
-Have you gotten family support for your athletic endeavors as a child and today? How has that support or lack thereof impacted you?
My parents and family have always been there for me. I put on a good bit of weight once I got into college (the freshman 15… well more like 30). My mom introduced me to a healthier diet and encouraged me to workout. I dropped all the weight and got into the best physical shape I’ve ever been in! After college in 2005, I competed for Miss South Carolina MAO and won numerous physical fitness/swimsuit awards. My parents, sisters, and boyfriend-now-husband were there for me EVERY step of the way. Even when I was stressed, tired, and broken down, they were always there to pick me up.
-When did you begin competing? I’ve only done one competition and that was in August of 2008
-What is your competitive record? 2008 – Knoxville Classic, 2nd place Class D figure
-What are your competitive goals?
I’ve found that the pageant life isn’t for me, but I truly miss being on the stage. I’ve been married for over 3 years now and recently had a beautiful baby boy that I love dearly. My body has changed drastically and I truly do want to compete, but I just don’t want to miss out on watching my little boy grow during this special time
-What motivates you to compete? I enjoy feeling fit and getting on the stage gives me a chance to relish in the accomplishment.
-What are your 2010 contest plans? I’d like to get my feet a little more wet in competing, but I think I might pursue the bikini division.
-Most memorable experience in the sport to date? Again, I don’t have a whole lot of stories since I’ve only done one competition, but just being there as a true “competitor” around other strong women that are fit and healthy was such an amazing experience.
-Special recognition or thanks to anyone? My husband, Deni, for being there with me all the way!
-Available for modeling? Absolutely
