-Name: Lisa Fulton
-City of birth: Charleston, SC
-Current city of residence: Tallahassee, FL
-Career: Geoscientist
-Marital Status: Single
-Children: None
-Siblings: 19 year old Brother, Charlie
-Age: 25
-Onseason/offseason weight: 115/120 (not sure about these numbers as of yet)
-Best physical attribute: eyes, arms
-Were you athletic as a child? yes, but I did not participate in sports
-Have you gotten family support for your athletic endeavors as a child and today? How has that support or lack thereof impacted you? My father pushed too hard (he meant well) for physical fitness and did not make it fun. I rebelled and was convinced that exercising was not for me. I'm very stubborn. Unfortunately, that fed into my college years and my weight increased with my horrible eating habits (reward = food). After graduating with my Master's and realizing that 176lbs was not for me, my training partner and I began training together. We started with just running, then circuit training, and finally cardio AND weights. In his own way, my training partner helped me realize that there is nothing better in the world than feeling strong and healthy. No matter what I have chosen to do, my parents have always been supportive. They are especially supportive now and I'm secure enough to know that this journey has been for me and me alone. Not to make them proud of me. I know they are as proud of me as they ever will be. This is my choice, my journey, and my life change.
-When did you begin competing? Looking to compete for the first time in April at the Panhandle Showdown.
-What is your competitive record? Working on my first competition prep
-What are your competitive goals? Enjoy each competition and keep improving my physique and myself. If that means going all the way, then I'm there!
-What motivates you to compete? Having the body I've always dreamed of and have never had. I'm always looking to improve and challenge myself. I excelled in high school, college, and earned my Master's in one year; it was time to improve my physical fitness and appearance. Training for this competition gives me that avenue.
-Most memorable experience in the sport to date? Talking to people about the progress they have noticed in me and what I'm doing. The Arnold Classic and NPC Nationals were very memorable too!
-Special recognition or thanks to anyone? My training partner (Jason) and my parents deserve the most recognition. Jason has kept me accountable and kicked me in the ass when I needed it. He's also responsible for sparking my fitness interest and getting me into the gym for the first time. As you can see, I ended up taking the extreme! My parents raised me to have the tools that I'm using now to be as dedicated as I am. They are also VERY supportive. These individuals are invaluable to my daily training, nutrition and overall lifestyle.
-Available for modeling? I am available for modeling given plenty of notice.
