-Were you athletic as a child?

As a child I tried to play all sports. Haha, the key word is tried. I was a mediocre athlete, never the best but never the worst, regardless I just loved to compete and be active.

-Have you gotten family support for your athletic endeavors as a child and today? How has that support or lack thereof impacted you?

Growing up it was kind of funny. My mom was always the type that didn’t push me. She would always say, “if it’s hard, you can quit, it’s ok” my dad on the other hand was an athlete most of his life and weight trains to this day would say “if you’re going to do it, work hard and do it right”, nothing like a little contradictory support from my parents. But that did give me some fuel, try to prove to my mom even when it is hard I can do it and to prove to my dad that there is no slack on my end. The impact it has had on me to this day is still the same, the only difference is now I have to maintain a good record and keep trying to better it instead of trying to start one.

-When did you begin competing?
I started in 2005. I did an NGA show in NH.

-What is your competitive record?
05’ NGA Granite state open: 6th Novice
06’ OCB Maine Event: 2nd Novice
06’ INBF Monster Mash: 6th LHW
06’ NGA Granite State Open: 6th LHW
08’ Musclemania Universe: 2nd Novice HW
08’ NPC Debbie Kruck Classic: 3rd Open LHW
08’ NGA Granite State Open: 3rd Open HW
08’ NGA American International: 3rd Open LHW
09’ NGA American International: 1st Open LHW
09’ NPC Florida Gold Cup: 1st Open LHW
09’ NGA MT Rogers: 1st Open LHW and Overall Winner, NGA Pro Card

-What are your competitive goals?
I'd like to compete at the NPC National Level and hope to be IFBB pro someday. I know that will be hard road and will take many years but that's ok, I have no intentions of slowing down or stopping. I'd also like to win other Natural Pro Cards such as WNBF and IFPA.

-What motivates you to compete? Progression, I am simply addicted to being better every year. I live with my saying: “maintenance is crap, progression is everything” Not to mention all the people who I've competed against and my compete with someday. Their hard work motivates me to work even harder. Knowing that if I slow down I could be left in the smoke drives me to never slow down.

-Most memorable experience in the sport to date?
My 2009 competitive year. I know it's recent but wow. I did three competitions back to back for three weeks and won first in the open light heavy weight in all three shows and also won an overall at the final show being awarded my NGA Pro Card. A dream come true and it let me know that with hard work it can be done.

-Special recognition or thanks to anyone?
My best friend Devin Stephenson for working with me at all my shows. My parents Sothea and Vantho Chip for their never ending support. And all my friends and family for simply telling me how proud I've made them.

-Available for modeling?
Yes, never done it but it looks like a great experience.
